Web directories works by classifying the whole content of the web sites submitted to them. Pretty much a hard work. I thought web directories is synonymous with web search engine like Google and Yahoo. As you know, these two is a giant web search engine. Search engine works by collecting and saving web pages information. Web search engine is not in an organized side unlike web directories which is organized by topic and sub topic. Web users find information in web search engine by the specific words they are searching.

Web directories have a listing option, free and paid one. When it comes to business and since you have the money to spend better go with a paid one. You maximize the services they offer unlike with free listing. For my site, I have chosen to be listed for free because I don’t have yet the enough budgets. Anyway, there’s nothing wrong starting with free web directory.

Traditional web directories list links by predetermined criteria, such as alphabetical order like DMOZ. The initial stage, at least submit or put some public facilities information like hospitals, clinics, police offices, market / shopping center, taxi, etc. Some tourism facilities like hotels, restaurants, tourism, tours, etc. Business web directory like bookshop, grocery store, jewelry store. That will attract people to open the site. Then continue to be made to the dynamic, for example, if there are some new articles will get people steadily open this site for updates.

There are so many web directories that we can find in the virtual them. You should also keep in your mind to always choose the web directories that has many different companies or resources listed within. You should also choose the web directory carefully since not all of them provides the accurate information.
