Using Web Directories for SEO

Nowadays search engine optimization (SEO) is a norm if not a requirement for all blogs and web sites in the Internet. Without SEO your blog or web site will be lost in millions of site in cyberspace. There are a lot of ways to do search engine optimization and you can do this with or without the help of a professional. If you had been blogging for some time now then I am sure you have your own ways of doing your own search engine optimization.

One way to have your blog or web site optimized to rank higher in search engine results page (SERP) is to have your site listed in a web directory. The more directories your site is listed the higher are your blog’s chances of ranking higher in the results page of search engines. It is good thing to note that when submitting to free web directory make sure that your site is listed under the same category as what the content is, this way your site will be listed correctly and will be found by people who are exactly looking for the content of your site. There are a lot of directories in the Internet which you can submit your blog. Choose SEO friendly web directory when submitting your site to have a higher chance in SEO. Directories that have been around for some time like DMOZ and Yahoo directory are good places to start in submitting your web site.

Again this is only one way of doing search engine optimization. I think this technique had been around even before SEO was named. It has been proven that this technique works and it did work for me so it should for anyone. The good thing also about using web directory is that it is simple and free to use. Even business web directory offer their services free most of the time so you don’t have to spend to take a stab at SEO.
